Founded in the 11th century, Arlay was the site of an important medieval castle that witnessed many historic events. Dating back to the 12th century, the Château d'Arlay is now one of the town's most visited monuments. Surrounded by a large green park, it offers a breathtaking view over the incredible Loue valley. The 13th-century church of Saint-Pierre is another of the town's most important monuments. It houses numerous religious works of art, some dating back to the 16th century. Wine lovers can also visit the local vineyards and taste the region's powerful wines.
