Mountain was part of the outbuildings of Baume abbey, and its history is linked to that of the surrounding villages: Le Pins, Le Louverot and Le Vernois. Moreover, there is only one monument to the dead for these four villages, which is just one church in Mountain. In addition to its three fountains and three washing, Mountain stands out from a very beautiful viewpoint, from the hill where the Romanesque church is laid, on the ruins of the castle of Arlay, the plain of Bresse, Frontenay and Château-Chalon.
