In this village with typical maturity houses, mills were once operated by Rostaing Creek. Nestled on the hillside, between vineyards and pastures, Passenans, which was in the Middle Ages of the Abbey of Château-Chalon, has in its old areas of beautiful vaulted cellars barely buried, fountains, a few steep gardens and a small chapel where the offices were celebrated until the church was built in 1863. But the commune is not only looking to the past. There are several active companies, including several independent winemakers, good charcuterie and a renowned bistro… It is also the starting point for a hike to Mount Royal (6 km: 1 hour 45).
