This large town in the Val d'Amour was the birthplace of President Jules Grévy, where his imposing tomb is in the heart of the cemetery. The houses are from the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1838 the Dolois architect Bassand built the Maison Commune and the Church of the Assumption, whose vestibule is topped by a bell tower with glazed tiles and an imposing peristyle. A carriage gate opens on the façade of the town hall and gives access to a vast courtyard bordered by a market hall. Jules Grévy's castle, built in the 15th century and restored in the 17th century, is only visible behind a large gate. Mont-sous-Vaudrey is above all the starting point for water sports holidays on the nearby Loue.
