Coming from Dole via Mont-sous-Vaudrey, Ounans is on a busy road that is used by tourists in particular. It occupies the grounds of an ancient Cistercian abbey founded in 1142. This village has long been an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area while enjoying the many outdoor activities on offer. On the banks of the Loue, it is a very pleasant tourist spot with 2 campsites, a canoeing base, restaurants, accommodation, a Comté cheese factory and the irreplaceable Chez la Zette , a grocery store / regional products open 7 days a week. Very practical and much more than a convenience store.
