With the forest of Chaux as its companion, Chissey has its largest oak tree, measuring 18 m in circumference, and a pond that is very popular with walkers. A rural commune on the alluvial plain of the Loue, 3 Gallo-Roman sites have been unearthed there, as well as an imposing villa from the 1st century AD. The interest is also its church Saint-Christophe of the XIIIth century which stands out far from the round. It stands out in particular with its 64 carved figures with grimacing faces that makes the natives nicknamed The Baboons. It was in this village that the film The Demarcation Line was shot with many of the inhabitants as actors and extras.
