The village is high up, as if on a spur. At the seaside, a small marine, charming and preserved, has a Genoese tower, watchtower against invaders from the sea. Meria had a hamlet, Pastina, where antimony was exploited in the last century on behalf of the English who had the market. The end of the exploitation sounded the death knell for Pastina. For those who want to reach the other side of the Cap Corse by a wilder route, take the small picturesque road which starts from Meria (next to the fountain) and reaches, in cornice, the indented coast of Morsiglia. Also worth seeing, the church Notre-Dame-des-Grâces.
