A village of less than 500 souls, Ebermunster is world famous for its Saint-Maurice abbey. Built in 1725 by the Austrian architect Peter Thumb, it houses a religious community whose origins date back to the th century. Arguably the richest Baroque buildings in the region, it has three bulbs with a height of 48 metres. On the porch, in a niche, Saint-Maurice welcomes pilgrims, while the Virgin throne at the top of the pediment. Inside, the visitor can only observe the beauty of the decor. Among other things, we admire the nave, the paintings of the vaults illustrating the legend of Saint Cécile and the trompe of the assumption of the Assumption in the cupola.
