The commune of Saint-Lubin-de-la-Haye is located on the Eure-et-Loir side of the Yvelines department. However, it has been part of the Pays Houdanais Communauté de Communes since 2003. The village, which has 11 farms, is split in two by the Vesgre river: Saint-Lubin village on one side and La Haye on the other - the hamlet having been attached to the village in 1790. Its name is a reference to the bishop Saint Lubin de Chartres, who also gave his name to the village church, listed as a Historic Monument in 1967. The village has been settled since the 6th century, and Gallo-Roman remains have also been found.
