MONT-LOUIS
Read moreThe citadel and ramparts have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. A recognition that Mont-Louis shares with Villefranche de Conflent. Having never been a member of a GE, except in a Spanish incursion in 1794 which was quickly pushed back by the ge n\ ral Ral (1736-1794), the strong place has reached its original state. So it's a fairly unique place that we can be able to cover. The story goes back to the Traite ́ des Pyre ́ es, sign in 1659, when the high cantons of Cerdanya and Du become franc. After 20 years, unable to exchange this province of Roussillon against a larger territory of Flanders, Louis XIV de\ acdi to build a strong place at the crossroads of communication routes between Capcir, Cerdanya and Conflent, to mark the new frontie re with Spain. In 1679, he entrusted the construction project to Vauban, which chose this site stratum ́ lysergic. In less than 2 years, it became what it is today, the highest strengthens city of France, and took the name Mont-Louis in honour of the Sun King.

THE HOUSES OF THE 17TH CENTURY
Read moreLanderneau has several beautiful houses, symbols of its rich past:
The Maison de la Duchesse Anne, place du Marché, is easy to find. After hosting the offices of the Tourist Office, she received a full renovation. It will offer a tea room on the ground floor, as well as a museum on the first floor (remaining floors remaining private). Dated in 1664, this beautiful residence has a series of glass windows that occupy a large part of the northern pignon. On the façade, a statue of the Risen Christ is inserted into a niche.
La Maison de Notre-Dame-de-Rumengol, at 3 St-Thomas Street, attracts a look. His name recalls the passage of pilgrims who went to Rumengol, a few kilometers away, and gathered in front of the statue of Notre Dame. This house has undergone few changes since its construction. The wedding of the pink stones of the Aber Ildut and the yellow stones of Logonna give it a unique aspect.
CASTLE ROC'H MORVAN

ALDERMEN'S HOTEL
Read moreThe Hotel des Échevins was built in 1489, on a space "released" by the great fire of 1487. He draws on the Gallo-Roman wall of Bourges. It is an essential monument to the city. At night during Night Nights it offers a magical setting to the projections on its stone walls. A rectangular rectangular body includes on the ground floor the large hall equipped with a monumental fireplace and the board of the jury vaulted stone and the fire test. The Hotel des Échevins was the headquarters of the municipality for three centuries. Its interior is just as interesting as its walls. Many sculpted decorations celebrate Berry's sheep, whose wool was so important to the city's wealth and influence. This Gothic style building was influenced by the decoration of the Jacques Coeur Palace: arches in accolade, pinacles, frayed cabbage. The false windows of sculpted characters adorning the octagonal tower will be delighted: These are sergeants of town that go to the pass. Admiring them will entertain children. In 1624, a new gallery body inspired by the Renaissance architecture treaties was added to the existing building. The Hotel des Échevins has been completely restored. It was built in a museum and now offers visitors to discover the works of the painter Maurice Estève, from Culan.
