The Barrès monument, the work of the architect Achille Duchesne and the sculptor René Grand-Colas in Saxon-Sion.
Maurice Barrès, a 20th century politician and writer, left his mark on his century and his region! The nationalism of the Vosgian left its mark. The monument dedicated to him stands at 520 m, at the top of the hill at the place called "le signal" in Vaudémont. It is the work of the architect Achille Duchesne and the sculptor René Grand-Colas. On the sides of its base, one can read various quotations from the work of Barrès. "Honour to those who remain in the grave, the guardians and regulators of the City" is one of the quotations taken from his work.
