TOWN HALL
Eclectic, medieval-style town hall on the site of Angoulême's former château comtal
Angoulême town hall stands on the site of the former château comtal. The Valois tower and the Lusignan keep remain from this past. Built in the 19th century to the plans of architect Paul Abadie, who added the belfry overlooking the façade, the building is predominantly medieval in style, with Renaissance references.
Tours of the old towers are available. Tickets must be booked online (angouleme-visite) or at the tourist office inside L'Hôtel de Ville.
