LE PETRIN RIBEIROU

Bakery
3.8/5
6 reviews

At the exit of the Val-Saint-André Highway, next to the Total station, here is an address appreciated by the Kaunas, because the bread there is good, the parking easy and the opening hours wide. The Ribeirou bread made with the old, the leaven and the oven is appreciated for its crispy crust and its mellow straight. It keeps alive. The secret? A flour rigorously selected, a slow and delicate kneading. Most: According to a secret process, the protein rich wheat germ and vitamins are integrated into bread. The breads are manufactured in the workshop in several daily fournées. In the spokes: many breads, including rye breads, complete, olives and grapes, sesame or cereals… But also pastries, fruit pies, croustades to pears or chocolate, and the delicious mouna, a brioche to the orange flower. Note: The cannelés are delicious and are cheaper than elsewhere!

HAWECKER

3.7/5
6 reviews

The reputation of the establishment is plain to see. It should be said that Frédéric Hawecker, a MOF, excels in the art of the sweet delicacies. With his creation, as original to the eye as explosive in mouth, your meal ending will take another dimension. Futé does not get tired of a cake Paradis (which wonderfully bears its name) mixing light poppy cream, raspberry coulis, almond biscuit and crunchy almond biscuit. Chocolates and other confectioneries are equally exquisite. Macaroons, marsh mallows, spread, chocolate lollipops... it is difficult not to leave with some extra purchases: this shop is an invitation to delicacy! As bonus, the reception is of rare kindness.

What characterises this bakery is first of all a remarkable welcome and a variety of breads. Every day, there are different breads coming out of the furnaces. The establishment changed hands in 2018. Mathieu and Michael are now in charge. Both have decided to make Le Misto, a friendly place that combines flavours and happiness, as they themselves say. The menu is really overwhelming and the prices are quite correct.

LE GLACIER DU ROI

Glacier
3.5/5
6 reviews

With two locations in Marseille, including the historic Panier, Glacier du Roi has built up a fine reputation over the years. With its production laboratory visible from the store, the emphasis is on the artisanal side of production, with inspiring flavours: turnip, apricot verbena, mango... Sorbets and ice creams are available in scoops and cups, as well as in large quantities with containers so you can take them home with you. The only snag, and not the least, is that the prices are not cheap, being higher than those of other artisanal producers in Marseille. And yet there's an explosion of flavors in these ice creams, which lack a little taste. As for the addition of Chantilly cream, billed at two euros, not to mention the plastic cups which, while attractive, are thrown away once the scoop is finished, it's all a bit clumsy and not too up to date ecologically speaking on the last point. A great success thanks to its location and the many tourists in the area.

This bakery at the bottom of rue Espariat is an institution for the people of Aix-en-Provence. Kneaded, shaped and baked by the 100% artisan baker, the bread is soft and crisp all day long. In the bakery, you can choose from a wide range of special breads: the traditional French baguette, rye and lemon bread, corn bread, etc. The list is not exhaustive; you should go there to choose the bread that best suits the dish that will accompany it. At Christmas and Easter, it is best to order in advance. As for the pastries, there are sure-fire favourites such as calissons, croquants and the famous home-made marshmallow. GOURMANDISE BY NICO

Bakery

An "old fashioned" bakery as we like it. Without any pejorative sense of the term. First of all, we love the interior with its deceptively rococo decoration, the moldings, the large mirrors that contrast with the bustling atmosphere of the Place Jean-Jaurès, an alternative district if ever there was one. The terrace unfolds in the sun and is an ideal spot for your morning coffee, especially on market days, when you can appreciate the animation under your eyes. On the bakery side, very good homemade buns and pastries with some unexpected specialties like the poppy croissant. A marvel of delicacy in the mouth that we have never found elsewhere in the city.
