Closed - Open to 09h00

Debotté, a Nantes institution for three generations, a must for visitors, and still loved by the people of Nantes! The store on the Quai de la Fosse still amazes with its woodwork, chandeliers, friezes and scales classified as national heritage. Today, the two brothers have taken over: if Gérald is the chocolate maker, Josselin is the pastry chef. They have collected and preserved the paternal secrets of these strong and refined chocolates whose aromas seem to be part of the decor. Among the specialties of the house, the Mascaron, a dark chocolate rock filled with a crunchy praline and milk chocolate puff, created at the time when these mythological figures bloomed on rich facades to ward off evil spirits! Its magical power still seduces gourmets... Among the new products, try the Espelette pepper ganache with its heart of strawberry jelly, the 4 flavors sticks and the matcha tea chocolate. You will also find the famous berlingots from Nantes, and the Muscadet nantais which combines marinated grapes and dark chocolate. Josselin has inherited the family gift. His "pièce montée" is soft and light. You can taste his macaroons, Nantes cakes and other delicacies in the salons of the rue de Budapest or the rue Crébillon. Don't forget to buy your tea and coffee in the store on rue Copernic. And from now on, Debotté's homemade bread is also a beautiful baguette to take away! And in 2022 new ! the Mascaron pie is born : Breton shortbread, Mascaron with hazelnuts (Piedmont), dark chocolate ganache and dark chocolate plate ! Several formats exist, in stores or on order. We love this institution... When the weather is fine, you can also discover our homemade vacherin and other sweet treats!

VERGERS DE BELLEVUE

On the outskirts of Nantes, just a stone's throw from the Loire, you may be lucky enough to enter Philippe's shed, where he is passionate about his orchard and vegetable garden. His only master is the seasons, which punctuate his fruit and vegetable production. His working philosophy is not to rush nature. His agriculture is sustainable. At the Bellevue orchards, you'll find apples, pears and kiwis all year round, while the vegetables vary according to the season. Every autumn, Philippe offers tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, carrots and turnips. Radishes and lettuces come from a neighboring producer. You'll also find processed products made entirely in-house: apple and apple-pear juices. Finally, every Wednesday afternoon, a farmer comes to sell his produce: eggs, poultry and pork. The welcome is warm and the prices very competitive. Bellevue orchards supply many of the local restaurants, a guarantee of quality!

FRAISERAIE NANTES BOURSE

Glacier
4.6/5
7 reviews

One of Nantes' Fraiseraie shops is located near the Gaumont cinema in the town centre. So, no need to go to Pornic to taste the star sorbet of the king of strawberries. Go to Place de la Bourse and create your favourite blend by choosing from about thirty flavours. You can also trust the house and ask for a marbled ball, a combination of two sorbets that complement each other perfectly. You will have to pass the hesitation of a few moments between the cone and the cup, even if it does not matter the container as long as you have the ice cream! After such a trying adventure, get back on the road and, with sweetness in hand, taunt the envious ones who can only eat with their eyes the coloured freshness (but without colouring) that finally sustains you. La Fraiseraie also offers products to eat at home: sorbets to take away, jams, jellies, syrups, liqueurs, arranged rums, flavoured teas... Because good things should be shared! Other addresses in Nantes welcome you near the Galeries Lafayette and 2 on the Ile de Nantes: near the Elephant and the Carrousel des Mondes marins. In 2020 the Fraiseraie blew out its 50 candles, half a century of greed!

It is here, in the factory not far from this store, that the famous round, crunchy, golden cake was born, one of the gastronomic emblems of the region! We owe the history of this mythical cake to Joseph Grellier, a baker who kept the family recipe. It is honored in this store of 200 m², with tea room and terrace. Galettes, Roudor palets and other sablés de Retz, Michelettes, are in good place. In the tea room, accompany your tasting with a madeleine or more elaborate pastries. No visit of the factory possible.

The spirit of the company is to preserve the traditional aspect of cider while rejuvenating the tastes. The Guillet brothers are among the pioneers of the cider revival in Brittany. Here they produce IGP Bretagne ciders (regularly awarded at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris), brut, demi-sec and sweet ciders. LES DELICES DE THAÏS

1 review

Thai delicacies are a family story that gradually fits around common values such as engagement (part of the exploitation will become organic), dedication (fresh and high quality products), transparency, originality and family, then it's not less than four generations that contribute to the smooth running of this. store. To be more precise, Thai delicacies are a store where fresh fruit and vegetable lovers come from. Fresh and original vegetables, as it is also possible to find atypical vegetables (on pre-order), like mini-vegetables, food flowers or germs, especially in the air of time. We obviously buy home crops, but also a whole selection of groceries (dried fruits, creeds, spreads, wines, juice…), local to the extent possible. A small selection of very affordable wines (3.50 € to 9.90 €) and the cheese chosen by Pascal Beillevaire. Once a week, "Kitchen is yours" proposes a playful and original concept: every volunteer can offer a simple recipe prepared from seasonal products and prepared on the spot at the entrance of the sales area. A delicious way to occupy a Saturday morning! Children are not there and several ranks are already reserved for the grocery store for an initiation to gardening, which promises these apprentices tasty discoveries at the time of gathering. The dynamism and friendliness of the team make Thai Delights a precious address, especially for gourmets who encounter some difficulties in getting cold bowl and other tubéous capucine…

Closed - Open to 10h00

This boutique showcases the original creations of Thuriès. This chocolatier-harvester is a former Companion of the Tour de France, MOF pastry chef-chocolatier-confiseur and ice-cream maker. Here, gourmets discover chocolates made with cocoa from plantations in San Fernando (Ecuador) and the South-West. We love the variety of the chocolates. Fruity, floral, dark, milk, etc. The store's Truffelines (a base of crêpe dentelle and praline), Bouchons (dark praline chocolate bonbons) and Noisirons (confectionery with honey, candied fruit and hazelnuts) are also very appealing. But we're also looking forward to other delights, such as demi-macarons, caramel, pralines and spreads. Something for everyone!

THE BOULANGERY

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream
5/5
1 review

The Boulangery is a bakery-pastry-sandwich shop in Thouaré. So far, nothing surprising then. Except that... Christophe Jamet, the baker, had a desire for change and wanted to create an establishment in his own image. In 2011, when he bought this bakery, the decoration was rather traditional and did not resemble him. But at the time he had other concerns than the style of his store. A fan of rock and metal, he participates in many festivals and meets, through his musical experiences, several architects and decorators. The project of The Boulangery nouvelle version was thus born of a passion for music, of encounters and the will to shape a bakery that resembles him. And as far as the setting is concerned, you won't be disappointed! For his new style, Christophe chose a rock-metal-chic decor, with rust and black tones. And for the fast food part, here too the change is radical and, to say the least, original and successful. For an unusual lunch break, you will indeed have the possibility to eat in a fitted container (and heated in winter), installed in front of the shop. And that's not all: this container is enhanced by an old baker's truck. A real one! On the taste buds side now, Christophe and his team do everything themselves, including the snacking. Sandwiches, burgers, hot dishes (such as Greek-style chicken, turkey with mustard...) are offered every lunchtime. Christophe presents a selection of pastries that change every week, mainly "travel" pastries, easy to eat on the go and easy to transport, such as pies and éclairs. Viennese pastries are tempting and specialities for the holidays (logs, galettes...) are on the menu! And as for bread, the bakery changed its recipes at the end of 2019 and switched to B as organic: country, Nordic, wholemeal, seed pie and my father's pie have gone green. Run there, the welcome of Marie and her team is charming!

Orchards of the Farm in cider, bakery Panisfaire and Brewery of L'Olifant of Grandchamp-les-Fontaines, ice creams and sorbets of Sucé-sur-Erdre, for the local flavors, the exotic perfumes are also very present. A more than attractive card for this caterer not like the others. Indeed, here we combine wealth of different influences. Classic pork and roast charcuterie and beef assortiments share the scene with a multitude of other less expected dishes such as this Cantonese façon chicken wok, these spices and compotéé ananas or this curry duck. Cold and hot inputs, fish, meat, but also unique to the image of this dodine of fowl fowl, crustacée sauce. In addition to this, a selection of original toppings. The desserts are numerous and varied, including the pies that fall into chocolate, lavender, Au… what to create an exceptional buffet at the crossroads of flavours. It's a specialized grocery store dedicated to seafood products (smokehouse products, seaweed tartare, oysters, home-made ready-made meals, preserves, cider, beer, buckwheat potato chips...), as well as an occasional restaurant, oyster bar and event caterer, and an exhibition space for artists from the Ile de Nantes. LA PETITE BOULANGERIE

Bakery

Franck Dépériers, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, uses only selected flours without any additives and with a lot of natural and organic leaven. A true enthusiast who does not count his hours to give pleasure to his customers and transmit his know-how to his team! The dough is kneaded very little, but ferments for a long time in order to obtain a dough rich in taste and aroma. The flagship products of the house remain the organic boule, the torchon, an organic bread made of different flours, which goes perfectly with foie gras, the market batch, a sourdough baguette, the farmhouse bread which keeps its softness and freshness all week long or the apricotines and seiglitons, rye bread rolls filled with raisins As for the pastries and cakes, you will be surprised by the unavoidable Nantais cake (perfectly rhumy), the delicious honey and mirabelle plum tart, the plum pies or the admirably flaky croissants! Let's not forget the confectionery (marshmallows, fruit jellies, caramels from another world...) or the wonderful home-made jams. And what about sandwiches and other quiches to enjoy at lunch time. Don't miss the Christmas logs or the "galettes des rois" which are really worth the detour (it is highly recommended to reserve them). La Petite Boulangerie also has a stall at the Talensac market.

Here the blood and gold colors of Catalonia invite us to the French-Spanish delicacy. One could almost see the sun... in the eyes of Corinne, alias Co, this passionate person who welcomes us in her specialized delicatessen open to all! We come to discover the Catalan specialties of her home: artisanal products such as beautiful charcuterie and the famous Iberian hams (pigs raised in the open air) including the Bellota. Corinne "saves our aperitifs" with planxas, i.e. complete aperitif boards to take away. Feeling a little hungry or a lot? We have chorizos, dry sausages, tapenades, mejillones (mussels), boquerones (anchovies) marinated, Catalan cheese, fine mustards, olivades... And dishes prepared in jars. For the drinks? The cervezas (Catalan beers) of Cap d'Ona, wines and other sweets for the aperitif, such as Banyuls or Byrrh (old wine with cinchona), also present. On the sweet side? Artisanal cookies such as Rousquilles, caramel almonds and Bougnettes (depending on availability) are the perfect accompaniment to the organic coffee "La Tour" roaster in Perpignan! Finally, thanks to the touron (a kind of nougat), it's Christmas all year round! La Catalane, it's the pleasure of sharing and the Spanish way of life, and it's in Nantes. Ask for the great catalan sandwiches to take away for the little ones ! Benvinguts! BACKT BOULANGERIE

Bakery
Closed - Open to 06h30

In place of À la Boule Nantaise, a young couple have taken over the bakery to offer their new "pasta"! And not just any pastry... The new owners, Jean-Pierre and Svitlana, have spent years living in Norway, in the joyous atmosphere and well-being known as " hygge "! Jean-Pierre married Svitlana, and from Norway they brought back bread and pastry specialties to add to the savoir-faire made in France, sharing the good food! Sviltana and her team welcome us with their smiling eyes and charming Russian accents... It's a delightful blend of cultures, and we share their happiness with this new adventure! In addition to good bread, Norwegian specialties and a range of organic breads, the establishment is also a coffee shop. Here we drink 100% organic Arabica coffee (from Latin America), to warm our hearts! A real Italian-style barista machine offers espresso, latte, cappuccino and machiatto (to take away). Note: 5 bought, 6thfree . Why not try it with a croissant? As for bread, it's made with natural (liquid) sourdough, which you'll find in traditional baguettes, brioches, croissants and special breads. As for the latter, try Pain norvégien or Pain d'Arthur (organic) with its crunchy crust and soft crumb (Moulin de Suire organic flours), a real delight with its 5 cereals and seeds (including flax, chia...) and stoneground flour. The other flours meet the CRC label from the Girardeau flour mill (100% French origins) for the white breads, while the traditional bread also meets the Red label. Quality can be explained too! As for viennoiseries, in addition to the great classics, come and try Kanelbolle, the Norwegian cinnamon viennoiserie: they're available every day! Special mention should be made of Grandma's braided brioche (a close cousin of the Vendéenne), which is so tasty! In addition, there are savoury sandwiches made to order to preserve their flavours. You're sure to love Backt! The name? In German, it means "baking on the hearth". The hearth is the lower part of the bread oven! Now that you know (almost) everything, there's no doubt you'll be coming back again and again - Back to Backt!

LE JARDIN DES CONFITURES

Honey and jam producer

In Vritz, Isabelle Clérot (a former cook by training) has set up her laboratory where she now makes jams, jellies, chutneys, syrups and other spreads. This traditionally fruit-growing region offers the ideal conditions for her fruit-based productions; her jarred preparations are in fact mostly made from the processing of fruit produced on her farm. In organic conversion since 2019, "here, no chemistry!", as Isabelle likes to say. Only natural products are used in the making. You can find her products on the Internet, in producer's shops and on the markets of the region. All sorts of tasty jams (pear, greengage with vanilla, apricot with vanilla, red grapefruit, rhubarb...) or jellies based on perfectly original recipes as well as delicious chutneys (such as the Norman chutney: apples, onions, raisins, lemon, spices), marvellously presented in pretty jars, or the delicious syrups (savory, oregano, mint syrup, sweetness of childhood...). We give in to the very high quality of these sweets but also to the mode of production and distribution, directly from the producer to the consumer, which is a sure guarantee of quality. You can find them, among others, at the Épi du fermier near Canclaux, Little Britain Café in front of the Grand Blottereau park, or Lecoq and also the new space of Brison traiteur at the Nantes train station.

At La Maison, the bread is artisanal, organic, leavened and made on slow fermenting millstone flour. As for the coffees, they are roasted by Allpress, percolator and gentle extraction. The teas are selected by Patchouli & Co., a Nantes-based tea-springer. In the shop window, the breads are beautiful and the crumbs delicate. On the premises, the coffees are tasted and processed according to the rules of the art. In the heart of the creative district, delicacies inspired by international traditions will give you inspiration!

LA FERME GOURMANDE

Specialized grocery
Closed - Open to 09h30

It was in March 2020 in Carquefou that the young farmer Alexis Chauvelon created his gourmet farm. This young market gardener grows carrots, potatoes, chard, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes and strawberries in a reasoned way... Located between the chicken and goat pen and the market garden greenhouses, this new wooden building houses a shop that offers various quality farm products direct from producers, most of them local. The fruit and vegetables are grown using integrated farming methods and the aim is to convert to organic farming in the future. We love the Comice pears from Carquefou, the Fuji apples and the yellow kiwis from Saint-Julien-de-Concelles, the XXL version of quinces (with a recipe for a pie as a bonus!), for this anthology of cucurbits, for these sweet potatoes... In addition to the fresh produce, you will find beef from the Guillauminerie du Gaec le Bois Guillaume in Ligné, but also poultry from the Ferme des Marais in Haute-Goulaine and pork from the Ferme de Bel-Air in La Meilleraye-de-Bretagne as well as from the Maison Bodet in Le Landreau. A dairy section with eggs from Bio Divatte, farm dairy products from the Pays Guérandais from the Mézerac farm and ice cream from the Ferme du Blanc Verger in Sucé-sur-Erdre. You will also appreciate the abundant grocery store where gourmet products all as tempting as each other are mixed together: coffees, teas, honeys from Frédéric Hermann of Couëron and Ferme de la Pénoue of Petit-Mars, jams from Ferme du Bouffay, compote, porridge and vegan cookies from Vahina of Trentemoult, Des Épices à ma guise items from Ancenis, west Spiruline from Carquefou, soups from the Conserverie des saveurs, bagged legumes from Gaec Le Parpounet, vinegar and cider from Landes du Luquet... As you will have noticed, La Ferme Gourmande lives up to its name! In the summer of 2021, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and vegetables will be picked, and a workshop will be set up to transform the crops into jams, ice creams and soups...

BOULANGERIE CHEZ FLO

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream

A real craftsman with 100% local and home-made products has settled on the route de Vannes. Where it is not so easy to find real bakers, where the bakery is really on site. Go there with your eyes (almost) closed. But open them wide to admire the good breads, pastries, sandwiches and other sweets made by Florian (aka Flo) and his team. Here you can find good bread kneaded on the spot, wholemeal, spelt, seeded, traditional or seeded balls and baguettes. You will love the homemade tarts, raspberry passion, amandine, lemon meringue or flan. You can also enjoy the chocolate eclairs, hazelnut, caramel and salted butter or, depending on the season, lemon or other natural flavors! The pastries are sublime and Florian has a crush on the beautiful madeleines that make us fall back into childhood. Of course, you will find the sandwiches of the day, various quiches and other pizzas. A beautiful address.

BRAS DE FER BAR CAVE

Caviste

A new wine shop has opened in Nantes, with a name that's nothing short of muscular: Bras de Fer! Run by 3 partners, all wine experts or oenologists, their cellar is all about quantity, but above all, quality. 95% natural wines to taste on the premises or to take away. They also produce their own wine: the grapes are harvested in the vineyards of Nantes and Anjou, and then vinified by their partner l'Agronaute. The dining room is also very pleasant, with its mezzanine and great outdoor courtyard, ideal for a stroll in summer. And let's not forget their great program (concerts, exhibitions, DJ sets) and local produce, such as Painbar bread and Vendeen ham. A real treat!

Closed - Open to 10h00

Since 1982, Dominique and his team have forged close links with winemakers from all over France and abroad. It's hardly surprising that the cellar, which has earned a fine reputation in the Nantes region, boasts a large number of regulars. Cavistes and sommeliers are at your service to advise you and help you discover both grands crus and excellent bottles at reasonable prices, not forgetting a selection of whiskies, rums and spirits, savoury and sweet products, seafood verrines, chocolates and oils. They blind-test the quality of the products before offering them to you. Got a recipe in mind? Come along with your list of ingredients or your menu, and the Cave de Longchamp team will suggest the ideal wine to accompany your meal. Every month, the Cave de Longchamp offers the Carton of the Month, which of course always comes from a different source. Businesses and professionals can also book a private tasting session.

Closed - Open to 10h00

Not far from the remains of the ramparts and Anne de Bretagne's castle, just opposite the cathedral, is the red front of La Trinitaine in Nantes. In this store, where the wood of the beams rubs shoulders with the stone of the granite pillars, it's a veritable paradise for gourmets and lovers of the Breton terroir. You'll find a wide variety of both savory and sweet Breton specialties, from the Pointe du Raz to the Pays nantais. You'll find, for example, those beautiful colored or painted boxes that some of us's grandmothers used to grab from the buffet at coffee time, and which contain the tasty, and famous, Breton butter galettes. But galettes aren't the only thing on La Trinitaine's shelves: kouign-amann, sablés, madeleines... try dark or milk chocolate buckwheat cookies. But also confectionery: berlingots nantais, salted butter caramels, Salidou cream, Coucougnettes (roasted almonds) or Niniches (Quiberon lollipops). On the savoury side, it's all about gourmet ideas, with a wide choice of preserves and other preparations (tuna, sardines) as well as fish soups, products from Belle Iloise or Guérande salt, buckwheat potato chips, Crousti Breizh, or buckwheat caramel.... A corner is devoted to speciality drinks: nantillais, cider, chouchen, pommeau, liqueurs, beers... Beautiful jams are among the many delicacies on offer, including the Bois Jumel brand and its delicious flavours. And don't forget to check out the new boxes designed by B. Morinay. Last but not least, admire the earthenware tableware and textiles featuring the famous Bécassine. This is the ideal corner for gift ideas all year round! And don't forget the chocolate, vanilla or raspberry Trinibeurre.

LE PALAIS DES THÉS

The Palace of Teas has been a long-standing artist… Its founder, François Xavier Delmas, has been touring plantations around the world in search of the best wines for 25 years. From Darjeeling to Shizuoka, from Taiwan to the Golden Triangle, he invites us to take advantage of his know-how, and to share his encounters and emotions… With his team, they also created original blends, such as the very popular Tea of the Monks (a unique blend of green and black tea, according to an ancestral recipe found in a Tibetan monastery), and the famous Tea of the Hammam, to be tasted hot. or icy throughout the day (this is a Turkish recipe, based on green tea, pink parfumé, green date, red fruits and orange flower.). The Palace of Teas, of course, offers the classic classic wines "nature" and for the amateurs, few rare and ephemeral vintages, which last the time of a harvest. It's also difficult to resist the pretty choice of Japanese and Chinese crafts (cast teapots, fine porcelain bowls, fine cracked boxes…). A real moment of pleasure.

Olivier Hodebert, finalist of the World Winery Championship in 2003 and 2005, is the happy patron of the Cellar of the Inawaa in Vertou. Its team and it open the doors of this cellar to the 1,000 treasures. A fine wine proposal that he has all tasted himself, demands and professional conscience oblige. The proposed bottles were selected directly from the producer. For Olivier, wine is first and foremost the man and the land that gives it. This friendly and affordable place is perfect for discovering French and foreign treasures. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To note, the cellar of the Inwait is also a very good restaurant.

Place du Maréchal Joffre (commonly known as "Place du Marché") is home to not only the best fresh produce stalls on the Peninsula, but also all kinds of items and clothing from the most classic to the most unusual. The Pornichet market has nearly 100 stalls in winter and 200 in summer. It is one of the largest markets in the destination La Baule-Presqu'île de Guérande, known from the bay of La Baule to South Brittany via Saint-Nazaire and Brière. Among the edible sellers, organic is well represented, with vegetables, but also bread, poultry, milk and cheese. If you like goats, an organic producer with a hat and long hair sells the best and cheapest in the region. An arborist will also supply you with many varieties of exceptional organic apples. Meat, seafood and oysters are not to be missed inside the halls. In summer, you will also find souvenir sellers. You can also enjoy an excellent little nutmeg at the bar once your basket is full. It is recommended to come early or risk impressive tails at the popular stalls. Another market, in the Sainte-Marguerite district, from mid-June to early September. As for the halls, they are open every summer morning to supply you with fresh produce!
