This Italian cafe restaurant is a haven for teachers and bankers. At night, the tone rises with the release of the shows. The atmosphere is that of a luxurious and discreet brasserie. One always tastes there the marvellous rosemary ravioli, a vitello tonnato, a saltimbocca Romana or a grilled sirloin of beef tagliatta, alla rucola, olivo e lmone... When you push the heavy door of this famous Indian restaurant, you discover an authentic decor like its cuisine. The Jaipur serves at noon the dish of the day, the Thali, which is a plate made up of meat, vegetables, rice and a doughnut; in the evening, one takes the time to make a banquet. Vegetarians will find delicate vegetables that will delight them. You can choose between strengths 1, 2 or 3, depending on whether you want to eat a lightly or strongly spiced dish. There is even the possibility of reserving a room for twenty covers for a meal with friends.

It has already been thirteen years since the Fleur de Lys, which has become a true Geneva institution, was born out of a bet between three Scouting buddies. In the morning, we come there to eat a sandwich with a small coffee and a newspaper. At midday, the dish of the day, inventive, copious and cheap, never disappoints. During the day, you will come to appreciate the home-made syrups and the impressive tea menu. Then, at aperitif time, beer lovers will find what they are looking for among the 25 or so brands on offer, accompanied by excellent home-made tapas.

It is Mario Di Sessa who orchestrates this neighbourhood address where you have a very pleasant time. You are at the local bistro, in the restaurant or bar to enjoy Italian or Swiss cuisine generously concocted by the chef. The house works exclusively with fresh products. After the morning delivery of the vegetables Mario takes his place behind the stove. A successful reconversion for this former plumber who worked in theatre, singing, politics and gardening before expressing his passion for cooking here.

Alain Paillereau took over the reins of this restaurant in 2021. You're in a house dating back to 1839 in the delightful Bourguillon district, just a few minutes from the center of Fribourg. The chef trained with Éric Frechon, Anne-Sophie Pic and Michel Troigros. He was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. The cuisine gives pride of place to local producers, whether for fish, fruit, vegetables or condiments. The service, of course, matches the setting. The terrace, shaded by chestnut trees, is an inviting place to stroll and enjoy a cup of coffee.

In the heart of the Pâquis district, a very good Genevan bistro address that's absolutely irresistible, as much for its warm welcome, its slightly retro decor, as for its cuisine that leans towards gastronomy. Local products, local wines, crus by the glass and excellent food! We come here for the magnificent entrecôte couronnée, its veal tournedos and its pan-fried red lentils and cornucopias, as well as its delicious fish dishes that leave exquisite memories for the taste buds. The restaurant supports regional agricultural production.

Located on the first floor of the Mix Shop, opposite the upper entrance of Fnac, the Petit Thaï is an excellent address for eating at a low price: Ginger chicken chicken, matsaman curry beef, cashew shrimp, cashew shrimp and many more. The service is very fast and the friendly staff. Non-smoking room.

Ma-Jong is an Asian fast-food restaurant that breaks away from the Swiss norm, with takeaway boxes of Chinese noodles or more elaborate on-site dishes. Excellent pad thai and hearty ramen! The place has opened a second floor that doubles as a sushi bar and karaoke bar (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The owner, who worked with Japanese for ten years, has decided to offer traditional sushi at affordable prices. Also worth trying: Asian beers such as Tsingtao. A well-known address among regulars.

Located on the grounds of the Vidy campsite, this restaurant offers a friendly, relaxed setting. With its large lakeside terrace surrounded by trees, Les Berges de Vidy is the ideal place to stop for a meal or just an ice cream. Under Orangina umbrellas, you can enjoy delicious perch fillets or simpler fare such as cheese crusts and pizzas. The Breton pancake bar also serves excellent buckwheat pancakes. Flip-flops and pétanque atmosphere guaranteed all day long!

Another dimension, this time from the lake. It's an exploration not to be missed, a cruise aboard one of the Belle Époque boats on the lake. The cruise offers beautiful panoramic views of the Lavaux terraces and the Swiss Riviera, and the Alps on the French side. CGN offers a wide variety of gourmet cruises, including the "festival des fondues" (cheese or wine fondues), or "lunches on the lake", or chef's suggestions. This three-Michelin-starred restaurant has held on to its title of nobility for over a decade now: it's one of Switzerland's finest tables, and well worth the trip. Excellent and sublime when each dish, combining flavors, texture and art of presentation, constitutes a masterpiece of culinary art.

All the Swiss in the region know this prestigious gastronomic address, located in the charming village of Brent, on the heights of Montreux. Since 2011, Stéphane Décotterd concocts divine dishes based on local products (2 Michelin stars). The puff pastry of frogs' legs with tuberous chervil, black truffles, makes our mouth water. When the Biscôme clementine flavoured with mountain honey arrives, our gaze says a lot about our delicacy! A refined setting in a building of character and a marvellous terrace.

The Museum is an institution offering the full range of unmissable Swiss specialties. Admittedly, it's not the best value for money in town, but you'll enjoy it in a Vaudois atmosphere. The setting is pretty and rustic, with red and white gingham tablecloths for the meat specialties, such as beef tenderloin heart fondue, charbonnade and entrecôte (from 200 to 500 g!), all served with the cellar's gratin, made with ten kinds of cheese. A real treat. The Charbonnade is excellent, and the service is good.

A building with typical regional architecture, set back from the hustle and bustle, but easily accessible from the town. In a traditional pint décor, meat dishes are served mainly as rump steak from our mountains, "Café de Paris" butter or veal kidneys with Meaux mustard, oriented towards local cuisine. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, in a cosy dining room, with fireplace, or also on the terrace.

When we compare recipes to musical notes, we can recompose them together to give birth to thousands of other ideas and create new compositions. It's a real poem, and it works! The pizzas are good and tasty, and the welcome and service are excellent. In short, the atmosphere is one of Italian gastronomy, and you'll never tire of enjoying it. This time, it's a golden-yellow house clinging to the terraces of Lavaux, a location worth its weight in gold, as always, facing the lake and the Alps, a sublime panorama of which one never tires, whatever the light or the season. Everyone fights to have lunch on the lake side, so much so that the managers warn: reservations? According to the recorded chronology, by telephone. You've been warned. Fillets of perch, pike-perch, trout, risottos, sauerkraut, papet vaudois... Traditional and tasty dishes to savor.

It's a little pink house perched on the terraces of Lavaux, a pretty winegrower's house in Aran-Villette. Its chef, Denis Velen, prepares gastronomy based on creativity, inventiveness, color and the inspiration of the moment. He creates "whims of the moment" menus. A great deal of research goes into flavors, the blending of products and the surprise of taste. On sunny days, you can enjoy a splendid view from the terrace. We also offer cooking classes on Thursday and Saturday mornings, followed by a tasting menu (check website).

A house of character in the pretty village of Cully, l'Auberge du Raisin is an elegant address. Under the inlaid ceiling of a late 14th early 15th century room decorated with still lifes, you can enjoy gastronomic cuisine, good spit-roasted meats such as the "Boucherie Nardi" rib of beef, creamy tarragon butter, or the whole roasted Swiss cockerel on the spit, with Meaux mustard sauce. The fish dishes are finely cooked. Several areas, bar, cellar, brasserie, restaurant, reading room and hotel.

In Vevey's pedestrian street, the Aladin restaurant is a well-known address among local residents. In a magnificent setting worthy of the Arabian Nights, Ahmad Bahadli has been serving Moroccan, Lebanese and even Iraqi specialities for twelve years. By day, the atmosphere is friendly and sunny. In the evening, candles on the tables make for a more intimate atmosphere. After a starter of hummus and couscous or tagine, there's nothing better than settling down on a pouffe with your hookah and enjoying a light digestion.

The Hilton Café is one of the two restaurants of the Hilton Hotel Geneva, located a stone's throw from the airport and the Palexpo congress centre. Open every day of the week, it allows you to eat from 5:30 am with several breakfast formulas, adapted to your appetite and during the day with an international cuisine in a bright, spacious, design and contemporary. The cuisine is resolutely cosmopolitan. For a Sunday meal with the family, the Hilton Café organizes from midday "les dimanches des p'tits chefs" with lunch and entertainment.

A small, wood-panelled Vaudois village bistro with a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome. The cuisine is excellent, with products from local suppliers that vary according to the season and the chef's inspiration. The presentation is superb with its play of colors, a small work of art. The cooking is excellent, and the sauces reveal enchanting, delicious flavors. Authentic gastronomy, so popular for its excellent dishes that reservations are recommended!

A unique view of the lake and the Alps from this restaurant-café, not to be missed. Your visit to the museum should end with a break on the top floor for lunch or a simple break. The large glass-walled dining room, decorated with a number of Olympic trophies, allows you to stay in the same Olympic atmosphere, with your eyes lost in the splendor of the panorama. The menu is unpretentious, offering fish (we're finally spared the perch fillets), burgers and salads. An unmissable break.

Au Parc offers a good Italian cuisine, with all the local specialities such as pizzas, tartars and vitello. The cuisine is always in season, and there are also some originalities such as crostinis with pan-fried foie gras, gnocchi with crayfish and Armagnac or the "minute" tagliolini with truffle cream. Their specialties include poêlons montagnards, croûtes au fromage, fondues and absinthe soufflé glacé. The motto is to bring authenticity to both the cuisine and the welcome.La Ferme Robert also has a few beds in rooms of 2, 4 or 6 beds, at affordable prices.

In a 100% natural setting, this restaurant on the outskirts of Auvernier offers entirely organic cuisine. Cheeses, milk and meat come exclusively from the adjoining farm, as do the cereals, which are transformed into delicious homemade bread. From salads and carrot juice to vegetarian dishes, grilled fish, hamburgers and L'Aubier's famous couscous, all dishes are fine and tasty. At L'Aubier, you'll also find serenity and fresh air. You'll be pampered in a warm and invigorating setting.

Certainly one of the best restaurants in Zermatt and the friendliest atmosphere thanks to an owner who is both a chef and an artist. On certain evenings, Dan Daniell, who has been running the restaurant for over 25 years, likes to perform his songs. The cuisine is refined with just the right amount of inventiveness. But the local lamb is still one of the house specialties. Scented with herbs and grilled over a wood fire, the meat is tender and the cooking perfectly mastered. As this is a very popular address, it is best to make a reservation.

The food here is Valais cuisine, richly prepared and served. Good fondues, as successful in the set exercises (boletus fondue) as in the free program (Williams pear fondue). The interior is perfectly rustic, but just as elegant as the kitchen. Service is attentive and friendly, and prices are surprisingly reasonable. To whet your appetite, you see half a wheel of raclette cheese gracefully dripping onto your plate.

The only truly gourmet stopover in Saint-Maurice is conveniently located opposite the train station. In a large building, you'll find a warm, family-style dining room. The cuisine is tasty and refined, based on honest products such as Saint-Bernard lamb and Saxon asparagus. We drink Mr. Zufferey's fine Fendant and enjoy discovering the subtleties of local wines. Service, provided by Patricia, the chef's wife, is as warm as it is professional.

A recent establishment of Paris Zurich Catering, which also holds the restaurant (see article). This establishment specialises in domicile preparation. Subject to strict standards of quality and hygiene, they will save any skepticism! The principle is «take away» but it is also possible to eat on-site, in a small, tastefully decorated lounge. Salads and soups according to season, tartars and desserts, everything goes into practical and aesthetic packaging. A try absolutely!

Run by the Wong family, originally from Hong Kong, Fai Wong offers a wide range of à la carte dishes, including duck served in seven variations: lacquered, with bamboo shoots, with orange... Traditional Chinese fondue is also served, with shrimp, squid, surimi, beef, chicken, bacon, ravioli, mushrooms, cabbage and tofu. The superb antique Chinese-style decor, entirely handmade, may appear opulent, but it blends well with the space and plunges you straight into the atmosphere. The terrace is open in summer.

A small haven of peace between cows and a breathtaking panorama, the café-restaurant in the Tour de Gourze is a pretty chalet with a large terrace. Traditional dishes are served there: fondue, cheese crust or sausage with cabbage and rösti; and for dessert, meringues with double cream of gruyère cheese! This high perched place will therefore show you the whole range of Vaud gastronomy. Cheese specialities to be eaten without moderation!

The Portobello restaurant presents an original menu with a combination of dishes and vintages of olive oil from the Mediterranean. A successful marriage, sometimes a little surprising at times, especially in the desserts such as the pastilla of figs and apricots with pine nuts and tangerine olive oil or the panacotta with mint olive oil. The olive oil is presented as a grand cru and subtly perfumes each dish. The restaurant is cosy and luminous, thanks to the glass roof surrounded by olive trees. An address for a quiet dinner or lunch and open on Sundays!

Eat healthy, without depriving yourself and above all in a balanced way! Fourchette verte was born in Geneva in 1993; since then, a dozen cantons have been offering the label. Excellent cuisine and a menu that is constantly renewed.

Still during your exploration of the old town, you will not miss the wooded front of this restaurant. This one offers great Swiss classics, like the unavoidable fondues, with champagne, morels, half and half, fresh tomatoes and boletus... or fondues bourguignonnes. If you are not aficionados, you can fall back on the entrecote or the perch fillets. Enough to recharge your batteries to continue your visits.

A regulars' den, renowned for its excellent value for money. It offers recipes that mix original flavours from here and elsewhere: Moroccan four-spice omelette with fresh salmon hash and raw vegetables, sautéed duck with black mushrooms accompanied by sautéed rice noodles or surimi caponata, courgettes and tomato splits. On the other hand, the pot of cornettes with chorizo, shrimps or tomatoes, as well as more traditional dishes such as beef steak, cold roast beef are always on the menu.
