A strange name for this atypical restaurant, doesn't it? This name comes from the chimney sweeping profession which consists of maintaining and repairing chimneys. It is a tribute to the profession previously practised in this place by Ernest, an ancestor of the present owners. It has been completely redecorated with an flawless design, repainted in dark red and adorned with contemporary artworks. This beautiful industrial area, with a concrete floor and large bay windows, has become the new lively and trendy place of the Acacias district. The restaurant swings between Italian cuisine with its famous antipasti, homemade pasta such as spinach ravioli and truffle oil, and food with Mediterranean influences. You can come with a group of friends whether it is for lunch or in the evening for an aperitif in a trendy spot. Still, note that the open-space side can generate a little resonance depending on the number of customers. Terrace in summer.

A Chinese adage says, "Anything with legs that is not a table, that has wings that is not an airplane, can be eaten!" This restaurant proves it. Traditional Chinese cuisine offering the great classics such as jiaozi (Chinese ravioli), caramelized beef, fish from Sichuan (a region known for its very spicy dishes), etc. A Chinese restaurant where you will be spoilt for choice between fish, pork and seafood. A trip to the land of Chinese gastronomy, particularly rich and creative depending on the region.

We love him without limit! The tables look like a canteen, in the room below. The rest of the coffee seems to have stayed the same for ages. The restaurant even offers specialities such as cordon rouge, prepared with horse meat. The match apples are very good here, as is the meat, and the atmosphere is worthy of the bistro establishments of the 1940s to 1960s, where workers met the elderly, broke students and local residents. Terrace in summer, rather noisy.

Café Saint-Jean is a package of authenticity and essentials in all its splendour! Several assets: a pretty terrace in the heart of wooden constructions on the roof of the CFF tracks of Saint-Jean, in a quiet place. The second one, the owner, with a Geneva accent to be cut with a knife, and who welcomes you with an obvious pleasure, and in the eyes as an invitation to fraternization. The third, a feeling of being a little at home. The fourth, as the master of the house says: "Here, we do little, but we do well".

Contemporary urban chic setting for this Italian-style restaurant-café. The square bar is located at the back of the room and harmoniously overlooks the space. The small intimate cocoon of the round table and its curtain of orange strips is very coveted for sharing the meal. According to your desire, you choose your "Side". The "al dente" side with pastas and a choice of 30 different sauces served in a bowl. The "evolving salads" side with more than twenty proposals. Or the "beef" side. Good atmosphere.

An unpretentious Thai restaurant, with the Asian dishes we know: spring rolls, red curry chicken, or, even more exotic, the chicken marinade filled in its "pandan" leaf. Nothing exceptional at this address, but the food and service is simple and decent, although one can sometimes get impatient at the moment of the shot. A good quality/price ratio.

For lovers of Korea, this is an authentic restaurant full of Korean specialities, including the famous barbecue. The frame is simple, prices are relatively high in the evening, but the kitchen is quality.

An air of Japan and pure gastronomic happiness. The setting is traditional and a large Japanese clientele attests to the excellence of the cuisine. As in Japan, a very wide range of sushi, sashimi, maki and temaki are offered. Everything is a treat, as if we were in the land of the Rising Sun. At the time of writing, the very famous cook has unfortunately deserted the restaurant (hence the closing of the room in the evening). The dishes proposed to taste on the spot at midday or to take away in the evening remain very refined. A recommended address.

A rather select clientele attends this hostel, which is appreciated not only for its delicious Italian cuisine, but also for the welcome and green terrace. You can choose from more than twenty kinds of pasta, white truffle specialities and other gourmet dishes that change every season. If a client wants something special, the chef will be in four to make him happy. After these delicious dishes, everyone still drops in front of the magnificent dessert cart. Book absolutely.

Under the sign of Dionysus, as announced by the oak barrels installed in front of the door. We enjoy carefully prepared dishes. The customer is invited to pick up his bottle in the cellar, to taste it on the spot or at home. Undoubtedly one of the most famous silhouettes in the world, Chillon Castle is a symbol of Switzerland, a beautiful illustration of the country through the harmony of its forms (25 building bodies) and the impression of solidity and balance that emerges. A fortress on the water, a real lock overlooking the old Italian road, a necessary passage - because of the narrowness of the area - on the north-south axis, it is also, facing the lake, a ducal residence. Throughout the Middle Ages, the castle was the seat of the powerful Counts of Savoy, who settled in the region.

In 1536, Chillon was recovered by the Bernese bailiffs, who first made it their residence, before moving to Vevey in the 18th century. As the taste for life in society spread, they began to get bored within these lonely walls. Bern took pity on its bailiffs and bought the Tavel house in Vevey to make it their residence. It is then a question of shaving Chillon but, fortunately, it is too expensive! We will therefore use its cellars and attics, the courtroom will become a mill, a press will be installed in Count Pierre's room... Finally, the French Revolution will bring about the fall of Bern.

In 1798, the country of Vaud was liberated from Bernese control and, since then, Chillon has belonged to the canton of Vaud.

In the Romantic era, Chillon Castle became famous for the countless stories of writers such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Shelley, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas and, above all, Byron. The latter, having fallen in love with a historical episode relating to the imprisonment of Genevois Bonivard in the 16th century, dedicated his famous poem Le Prisonnier de Chillon (The prisonner of Chillon, 1816) to him. A few steps from the Servette, in a very quiet street, Salam warmly welcomes all lovers of middle eastern cuisine. At Alfredo's, it's the atmosphere of an Italian cantina where very good pizzas are served for an interesting price in Geneva. In the summer, the terrace on the square looks like an Italian plaza and one appreciates being served quickly. A simple but good address.

Located just below the cathedral, L'Évêché is an institution in Lausanne where you can enjoy a gourmet and traditional cuisine in the heart of the old city. The list of fondues is long: four cheeses, with mushrooms, shallots, curry or even chilli. Brasserie dishes and the weekly menu complete the picture. In summer, the small shady garden at the back is particularly nice and bucolic, with a garland of light bulbs and small wrought iron tables. On the shores of Lake Geneva, in front of Lutry harbor, Le Rivage serves market-fresh, local cuisine, including, of course, perch fillets and plenty of freshwater and international fish. The delicious fish fondue is definitely one to try, as it's original and tasty. In winter, the parquet floor and fire in the fireplace make the interior elegant and warm. In summer, the shaded terrace overlooks the quayside, and you'll find it hard to resist the large armchairs with their soft cushions. On the menu: mussels, oysters, fish dishes, salads, etc.

Set in a wooden nave surrounded by palm trees on the shores of the lake, this bar serves a relaxed atmosphere of pizza and homemade cocktails. Theme nights and live music animate the beautiful season.

This Italian restaurant of more than 50 years of existence serves very good pasta and pizza as well as magnificent seafood platters (from November to March). The menu varies according to the season. The décor is rather contemporary, with beige leather seats and leopard print benches. This establishment has been able to federate all types of public: multi-generational atmospheres where locals as well as tourists or passing stars meet. Young and efficient service, a good address, booking is highly recommended. It is also a hotel just a stone's throw from the lake.

With your feet almost in the water! Facing the lake, the restaurant is well worth the detour for its large terrace opening onto a grandiose panorama. The concrete building and interior design are a little lacking in charm, but you'll be forgiven for feeling right at home. The menu includes salads, grills, pizzas and burgers. We recommend that you come for the delicious weekend brunch, return to watch the sunset and continue with a pizza while listening to a rock band. Very popular, great atmosphere!

The Poco Loco is a Mexican gourmet restaurant that has proven itself for more than twenty years. The atmosphere is resolutely tex-mex, with wooden chairs painted in bright colors, yellow walls and turquoise columns. This bar-restaurant serves classic Mexican cuisine as well as more original dishes such as stir-fried chicken or shrimp. The ingredients are fresh and spicy. The setting is very pleasant, go there especially to spend a 100% Latina evening and dance the salsa afterwards in the adjoining Movida bar!

Peru has its high peaks, Geneva has its Alma with "haute" gastronomy! Far from us the stereotype of the Peruvian restaurant with colourful tablecloths and a folkloric atmosphere. Here, we focus on the origins of Latin American flavours and we revisit the dishes to give them a contemporary panache in a cosy and trendy lounge universe. An ethni-chic décor and tasty dishes to discover such as the unmissable pulpo anticuchero (grilled octopus, anticuchera sauce, potatoes and lemon wild rice).

It is first a site, with a terrace overlooking the lake of Montsalvens and the Montagnes mountain range. It is then a place of authentic, careful cuisine where Mr Maldonado does not hide his taste for the natural products of the region. The décor evokes the traditions of gruériennes, such as those traditional instruments used for the production of the Gruyère Alps exposed on the walls. The reception is charming and the guest is a good kitchen lover. Chalet soup and other strips, smoked ham from the region, poires pears, Meringues cream and cream are savoured. The rooms on the floor are nicely decorated.

Mikado is the Geneva brand that is on the rise when it comes to sushi. It is the ideal choice for a light and tasty lunch break with good assortments of sushi and sashimi. A design setting that you can have time to look at when the queue reaches the street. You make your choice as in a self-service before going to the cashier. The place is zen and design and the cleanliness is impressive for an establishment that offers fast food! It's also a small grocery store, so you can play the Japanese chef!

There is only one exclusive dish, a beef entrecote with Paris butter served with fries and a salad. The establishment takes pride in the famous "Paris butter sauce" developed in the kitchen, combining spices and fine herbs. The secret of the recipe has been jealously guarded since it was perfected in 1930. This dish will allow you to face the cold winter days. The setting evokes a Parisian brasserie from the 1900s. A few steps from the train station.

Located opposite the cable car in the heart of the resort, this chalet welcomes skiers who come to warm up with a glass of mulled wine at the end of the day. The extensive menu features typical Valais dishes, as well as seasonal French and international cuisine. Specialties include veal liver, entrecôte parisienne and, of course, röstis and fondues. Good pizzas. A convivial address with frequent live concerts.

Located in the heart of the old town, this Italian restaurant has a beautiful setting. The interior, with exposed beams, is elegant. The staff come to your table presenting the suggestions of the day. Well cooked fish, fresh ravioli… Here, we are not limited to pizzas and pasta, and serves more evolved, subtle and delicious Italian cuisine, but whose price seems somewhat overvalued. That said, the atmosphere is warm and the choice of wines very wide.

If the location and a little eccentric can deter more than one, the restaurant charm will change your mind. White and green dressed, Aux Trois Petites offers a small map with delicious dishes. Nice green terrace. Only caveat, a little bit expensive compared to the quantity.

La Stella is dedicated to Italian specialties, with good pizzas and varied seasonal cuisine. Of course, the menus change: traditional pastas, veal escalopines, osso bucco, saltimbocca, risottos, beef fillets, grilled octopus tentacles, perch fillets, giant prawns... The dishes are well prepared and delicious. The welcome is distinguished and pleasant, the service efficient and the shaded terrace wonderful in summer. The restaurant also offers home delivery.

On the lakeside, with a magnificent view, we offer Mediterranean cuisine and seasonal specialties. Southern accents punctuate the inspired dishes, such as tuna carpaccio with lemon pesto, eggplant gratin with parmigiana of course. Menus change regularly. You can choose between pasta, risottos, bass or char fillets - for a change from perch (which we haven't forgotten)... In summer, you can sit out on the terrace. Service overwhelmed when busy, but excellent welcome for children.

The setting is warm and inviting in winter, with exposed beams in the brasserie, cosy in the restaurant, and pleasant on sunny days, with its terrace adorned with green plants. The restaurant offers a gastronomic blend of Italian and French flavors, with Italian and French classics such as the famous pasta, lobster spaghetti, black truffle ravioli and veal escalopine, or, in season, game dishes. The restaurant is popular with groups and can be very noisy.

Charming tea room restaurant with garden tables and chairs, in the heart of the Mon-Repos park. Breakfast, salads and, in the afternoon, pies and excellent home-made ice creams are served. No reservation is possible, think about going there early especially if you want to have brunch on Sunday! In this wooded and poetic setting, the Folie Voltaire co-organizes the Digitales, a festival of electronic music, or open-air film screenings. The restaurant then closes later. A very original favourite to discover.

A delicious Vietnamese restaurant and convenient prices, which is not the case at most Asian tables in Switzerland. The regulars recommend Bo Bun. After a fire, the decoration was completely redone, in a rather cosy style with red walls. Nice terrace in summer. The staff is adorable.

This restaurant has a very good reputation. Departure for Iran and Iranian gastronomy, which we're discovering as we don't always get to enjoy it on a trip to Iran, apart from the kebabs offered mainly in local restaurants. This establishment boasts a rich menu of refined Oriental cuisine, including delicious Lebanese mezze, in a refined Moroccan-inspired setting. Set in front of the Montreux promenade, the terrace is a delight in summer. On the second floor of the Palais, numerous exhibitions are held each year.

A sublime view of the lake, to be admired endlessly, your eyes lost in the blue, as you savor a fine glass of wine. Le Bon Sauvage: a wine tasting bar. Housed in the superb Hôtel du Baron Tavernier, this modern-day inn is just as much a place to chat over a glass of wine as it is to enjoy a fine meal. The emphasis is on local produce and traditional dishes; a convivial place where the cuisine gives way to the riches of the Vaudois terroir. As for the hotel, it offers comfortable rooms.

The Auberge de Lavaux is a very good restaurant in La Conversion, above Lutry, awarded by a gastronomic guide, and serving classic market cuisine with modern touches, prepared by Christophe Rod. Panoramic glass roof and in the summer, beautiful terrace in the shade of cypress trees. To make your mouth water: fillet of veal in an old-fashioned mustard and hazelnut cremolata sauce, fine lasagne of foie gras with chestnut and pear Conference, the frayed cake with green apple on its delightful Provencal squash...

An excellent kebab! Once in Scanavin Square, you can't miss the little white Syrian tent. Set up here in both winter and summer, it adjoins the restaurant's small dining room. Inside, the warm welcome of manager Ahmad Badawi, the spices and chichas transport us to the Middle East. Excellent value for money. For dessert, you'll be spoilt for choice, as the display case abounds with pastries, not forgetting to accompany them with the traditional glass of mint tea that we're so pleased to enjoy in the Middle East.

Situated on the church square, this large, magnificent Bernese house dating from 1592 has a village bistro feel. In winter, you can enjoy a papet vaudois by the fire under the exposed beams. In summer, you go out onto the terrace and stay there in the evening, under the vines and garlands of bulbs. Specialties: lake boneless, house entrecôte, beef tartare and lake perch. Café de la Place also has a number of pleasantly renovated rooms.

Looking for the atmosphere of a pinte vaudoise? This is the real neighborhood bistro, with no fuss but high standards when it comes to the quality of the food. The Café Central, run by chef Nocente and his wife Stefania, prepares delicious southern Italian specialities: orecchiette with cime di rapa and fresh fennel sausage, fresh tuna meatballs stuffed with caciocavallo and a tiramisu from the competition's mamma, all enjoyed behind lace curtains and under tulip shades. Authentic and self-assured!
