Built in a former chapel, the café-restaurant de la Valsainte opened its doors in 1890. This venerable bistro in the heart of the old town welcomes both regulars and visiting fans of traditional cuisine. Typical Vaud brasserie fare, but also delicious Lake Geneva perch fillets, old-fashioned dishes such as calf's head with vinaigrette, pig's trotters in Madeira, old-fashioned veal kidneys... Not to be missed: an amusing bowling alley at the back of the bistro.

It comes from southern Brazil, at the gateway to Argentina, where the gaucho, the local cowboy, roams the pampas of southern Brazil, Argentina and the South American lands on horseback. The restaurant specializes in churrasco, grilled or barbecued meat. We start with a salad bar, then the waiters come by with a variety of meats. It's up to you to choose the type of meat you want. Café du Simplon is actually two establishments in one. On one side, the trendy Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, very refined, with immaculate walls and raw wooden floors. But this place is no less friendly, especially in summer when the terrace gives a village festival atmosphere to this district under the station. The menu includes both meat dishes from the neighbouring butcher's shop as well as fish delivered daily and vegetarian dishes, with specialities that are dear to the owner of Macedonian origin. On the other hand, the bistro to have good beers.

Prices a little bit high for a student district, but we are in Geneva. Good reception, we leave towards Cuzco, the sacred valley of the Incas or the Machu Picchu by the thought and we dream of our next trip!

The inhabitants of Carouge will tell you that they eat the best of the canton but not always the cheapest, as well as other specialities such as the calf's head. The small room is always full in winter. The place is full of charm, reminding the guinguettes of Carouge. Don't be offended if you have to share your table with tourists on the go. The family kitchen also offers other typical Swiss dishes: rösti, cheese crusts or Vaud sausage.

Here, people come at any time of the day to enjoy a coffee in the sun (or under the covered terrace, depending on the weather), as well as very good cocktails. The menu also features good small dishes to accompany your drinks. Suggestions change weekly, but the regulars also enjoy a good pizza, served on its wooden board. Pleasant welcome and beautiful decoration in the dining room.

The menu is simple but effective, with different dishes prepared each day according to the season. Having a meal here is also meaningful, since half the team is made up of people in difficulty or on the road to reintegration. They are fully supervised by catering professionals, forming a very friendly team.

The Bindella restaurant, located in Fribourg's old town, is a reference for lovers of southern Italian cuisine. A fine choice of antipasti and pasta dishes, and for secondi, a fine selection of refined Italian fish and meat dishes. Lemony veal ossobuco with polenta and the famous rosemary-crusted cockerel with baked potato are among the house classics. This is an excellent address from every point of view: the setting, the welcome and the service are all very well looked after. You'll have a great time.

Superb restaurant with panoramic terrace located in Clarens/Montreux, in the heart of Montreux, on Grande Rue, facing Lake Geneva. Here, the marriage of Japanese and Andean cuisine is celebrated. Dishes are prepared à la minute: maki, sushi, sashimi, rolls, raw or marinated ceviche. Plates are served at the table in life cooking, making them easy to share, as well as an elaborate wine and cocktail list. A unique experience!

In an ethnic atmosphere, the Lounge bar stands out from the other more traditional establishments in the resort. It's nice to come and enjoy a homemade cocktail and relax in the comfortable design of the sofas. Both felted and contemporary, it's a good idea to go out on Leysin.
