The brewery's dishes are Belgian-inspired (Flemish carbonnade, fried mussels or waffles), with good beers too. To top it all off, the welcome is charming.

This Irish pub was opened in 2014 by three friends from hotel school who managed to make it a nice and friendly place in the centre of Montreux. The locals and the students have their habits there. The large veranda with a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva and its soothing calm seduce people passing through. You can eat and drink well and cheaply, which is rare in Montreux. All sporting events, concerts, darts, curry and karaoke on Thursdays and weekends are broadcast on the big screen: fun and a good atmosphere!

The son of Arlette Hugon, a family legendary for its famous Lyon cork, gives soul to the restaurant. What is a bossette? It's a small rolling barrel, the receptacle for grapes picked in the Terrasses de Lavaux. The name of this bistro pays homage to the terroir. While the establishment has been involved in various types of cuisine for the hundred years it has been open, it now devotes itself to flammekueches, those delicious Alsatian tarts with thin pastry and a base of onions, bacon and cream. Particularly recommended on cold days! This restaurant was one of the pioneers in the Portes du Soleil to offer true Alpine gastronomy back in 1953. Since then, the tradition has been perpetuated and the recipes have been enriched without ever betraying the originals!

A traditional restaurant that proves you can be rustic and still have style! Over a crust or fondue (served with a military march and Swiss flag... be prepared to hear military music more than once in the evening!), customers of all ages gather at Les Trois Sifflets. It's said that the name of this pint refers to the three whistles that the first manager heard every day at 11 a.m.: the train, the boat and then his own, to warn his wife and daughters that it was time to get cooking!

A trip to the countries of the monks who are faithful servants of Buddha. You can enjoy one of the best fondues in town. In the evening, it is imperative to reserve a table by phone. The buvette is worth a stop for its splendid setting, its unique atmosphere, its swimming, its concerts in summer and its cultural and sports activities.

Warm and authentic! It was Jean Tinguely's Fribourg canteen and that of the Fribourg gotha. A small, inexpensive kitchen: well-filled perch fillets, egg cheese crust and rich salad, excellent rösti, melting fondues, stews and calf's head, ham from the milestone, etc. The walls tell the story of the local history of the region: testimony of politics and above all unusual objects such as La Wassmer-veilleuse, a kinetic sculpture created by Pascal Bettex which animates the wall of the first room with movement.

Its walls and ceiling are adorned with original works of art, creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere. The menu features dishes inspired by spicy, vegan, vegetarian and carnivore cuisine from the four corners of the globe. The restaurant takes great care in the presentation of its dishes. Recommended.

One of the best fondues in Geneva! This café seems to have an ancient history, because on its sign, you can read, "1824 - on foot and on horseback". The cheese dishes are exquisite: malakoffs, pan-fried tommes vaudoises, and of course the famous Gruyère AOC cheese fondue. As good as it is, the fondue does not satisfy all palates, which is why other suggestions are proposed: the cream of pumpkin of the country, the fillet of féra du lac to be tasted on a terrace. All in all, the Swiss gastronomic panoply to try before leaving Geneva.

This pretty ^18th-century building, so dear to the hearts of Lausanne locals and where Coco Chanel loved to enjoy a slice of flan and a glass of milk, is a flagship address in this guide, which has preserved the soul of yesteryear in the spirit of a family home. Cocooning and warm, this restaurant, run by the friendly couple who own the Art Boutique-Hotel Beau-Séjour, is located in a historic village building. You will be welcomed in a mountainous and friendly atmosphere. The decoration is well done, whether you sit by the fire, at the bar, at a small romantic table or at a large table d'hôtes, in the smoking room or on the terrace. The speciality of the house is the wood-fired grill. The menu offers tempting variations of meats such as the Simmental beef fillet with syrah sauce.

The Lexicon is an essential address for gourmets. When Chefs transmit all their passion, their know-how, it gives a renowned restaurant and a famous cuisine. The chef Cyrille Montanier wishes to offer you excellence with a refined, inventive and constantly renewed cuisine. His career with great chefs such as Bocuse and Rochat and his journey as a journeyman have given him a beautiful mastery of the culinary art, such as the famous hare à la Royale, which requires a long preparation but is worth the detour.

Gilding, mirrors, false ceilings and a bar "à la Parisienne" dating back to the 1940s, as the managers of the establishment claim. The whole place is a cozy setting to devour a meat grilled with a special technique, halfway between the oven and the grill to improve the cooking and the flavor of the meats. It is "charcoal grilled Jasper version", the famous "magic" cooking. It's serious: we offer a chateaubriand for two, ham on the bone, a T-bone, a rib of beef of 1 kg... Menus according to the seasons, refined cuisine.

It was at Geneva Airport that the first Montreux Jazz Café was created. A largely unpublished video archive of the Montreux Jazz Festival, which welcomes 250,000 people every year, punctuates the days of this place dedicated to music. A trendy atmosphere thanks to the touch of Julien Texier, an inspired chef with a passion for local recipes, whose creativity is expressed in his dishes. Snack-style seasonal products in the bistro's annex, the RED, with its electro music program and DJs who get skiers up and dancing.

It's a veritable Geneva institution that's packed from morning to night. It's here, among other places, that you'll meet the whole of Geneva. It's a place to feast and soak up the unique atmosphere of Geneva. For Sunday late risers, the Remor offers breakfast and brunch. What's more, the Remor regularly lends its walls to painters.

A small and discreet restaurant that hides a basic decor but is nevertheless an excellent address for Ethiopian specialties. One eats there with the fingers and all in the same plate, which remains to be avoided for the first meetings of lovers but proves to be of a great conviviality between friends. Only two dishes are offered, a vegetarian dish (lentils, salad, spinach) and beef kulwa served with its garnish on a large galette. The quality is surely better than in many of the more sought-after restaurants.

The Borgia has been an institution for over 30 years. Reservations are necessary here, especially at weekends, because, in summer and winter alike, the address, although outlying, is often fully booked. The welcome is simple but so friendly. The shaded and above all ventilated terrace is a bonus that deserves to be mentioned. The menu is worthy of a real Italian restaurant: hot and cold antipasti, primo piatti with creamy agnolotti stuffed with pecorino and pistachio. Second piatti to honour homemade dishes such as Calamaretti with parsley and garlic.

Renowned for its smooth and creamy fondues prepared in the purest tradition. The specialities of the house give pride of place to cheese dishes such as cheese crusts and cheese steaks. An attractive location in the heart of the Parc des Bastions: this establishment offers a beautiful setting at the foot of the old town. In summer, the lovely terrace under the century-old chestnut trees is the perfect place to take a break in the shade, to enjoy Swiss nibbles such as tomme vaudoise, a slate of dried meats and other snacks. The famous bacalhau - cod - can be found at the end of the world in the restaurants of Macau. With its panoramic view over the lake, the restaurant is especially worth a visit in summer to enjoy the terrace. In winter, on the other hand, the site can be noisy under the glass roof, but very pleasant in the shade under the parasols on sunny days. Facing the monument to Brunswick, a true dandy and colorful character who bequeathed his entire fortune (22 million gold francs in 1873) for a monument dedicated to him, the Cottage Café is a charming spot for lunch in the heart of Geneva.
