This commune was originally a primitive Gallo-Roman parish that included the territories of Redon, Cournon and Sainte-Marie. It has three chapels, a cave and the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, which dates from 1862. The Saint-Marcellin chapel is known as the intersection of the Roman roads linking Rieux to Corseul and Rieux to Condate. It is also the place where Nominoë and Conwoïon met when they brought back from Rome the body of Saint Marcellin to the Saint-Sauveur de Redon abbey. Discover the Ile aux Pies, one of the most remarkable natural sites, renowned for its cliffs which make it a unique climbing area.
