Rue Perrin, rue Chenot... In Chastellux-sur-Cure, the hamlets have the particularity of being streets named after the families who lived there. In fact, the commune has no village, which may surprise visitors. Beside the castle, the village is full of small heritage to discover like its church Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre which dates from 1677. Renovated in 1820, it houses the family vault of the castle owners. Built in 1573, the old bridge located on the Cure, at the foot of the castle, is one of the oldest in Morvan and remained for a long time the only crossing point on the road from Lormes (Nièvre) to Avallon. As for the viaduct which also overhangs the Cure, it was built in the 1870s. Finally, the Crescent dam is the most recent element of the village's heritage: built between 1929 and 1932, financed by the Germans to repair the damage caused by the First World War, it was for a long time the property of the city of Paris (until 1946) and was designed to regulate the waters of the Yonne and the Seine, and thus prevent the capital from experiencing flooding.
