The S'Albufera des Grau Nature Park is the island's largest. Its 5,000 hectares are divided into five distinct areas: the Favàritx lighthouse, the wetland, the island of Colom, the marine reserve and the fishing village of Es Grau. The presence of this park has greatly contributed to Menorca's recognition as a biosphere reserve by Unesco since 1993. In fact, it's a veritable haven of peace and a sanctuary for birds, especially migratory ones. On the road leading to Es Grau, two kilometers before the village, there's a fork in the road leading to the visitor center. From here, there are a number of short walks through the countryside.
