45 kilometers northeast of Bolzano, Vandoies is divided into two villages: Vandoies di Sotto and Vandoies di Sopra. At the mouth of the Val di Fundres, the area offers a wealth of winter and summer excursion possibilities in magnificent surroundings. From Vandoies, you can also turn off the main road in the valley and follow the Strada del Sole to Brunico: it winds its way up through the hills, passing through the villages of Terento and Falzes. Some 3,300 inhabitants live in this small commune, whose name is Vintl in German. The neighboring municipalities are Chienes, Rio di Pusteria, Rodengo, Selva dei Molini, Terento and Val di Vizze.
