Pêra is located south of the coastal road N125 and can be reached from Albufeira by the old municipal road. It has benefited from the road bypass built several years ago that has diverted most of the traffic from the village. The only visit to be expected is to its 18th century parish church, which houses a Baroque-style altarpiece. For the nature side, 2 km away, the salt marshes of Salgados have become a refuge for thousands of migratory aquatic species and one of the most visited spots. Pêra is also known for its International Sand Sculpture Festival (FIESA) which takes place every year.
