Aljezur is a very beautiful village, dominated by a ruined Moorish castle dating from the 10th century. Aljezur developed until the 16th century under the influence of the Moors. It was an important agricultural center, but the following centuries were very difficult and the earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of it. Aljezur is located between sumptuous wild beaches, true jewels of the Vicentina coast. There is a palpable sweetness of life.
