Located in the middle of the Majella park, the municipality of Caramanico Terme is a very pleasant stopover and an interesting base from which to explore the park. There is an isolated and gentle mountain resort atmosphere, a green tourism, but also thermal, as the benefits of its sulphur waters have been recognized and earned it, in 1960, the extension of its original name, Caramanico, in Caramanico Terme. The town preserved its medieval character inside the remains of fortified walls, although it was completely rebuilt after the earthquake of 1706, with interesting churches, fountains and beautiful palaces.
