The moshav Kfar Zeitim, whose name refers to the many olive groves in the region, was created in 1950 by Jewish immigrants from Yemen, gradually joined by Kurdish immigrants. It is established on a part of the lands of the ancient Arab village of Hittin, which only remains a few ruins away from the moshav. In early 2016, intense controversy developed around a project by the Israeli Government to create a Druze city instead of the remains of Hittin.
