Nazareth is nicknamed "the oasis of Guajira". It is a small town of six thousand souls, through which one passes to reach La Macuira National Park. It is one of the few places in the region where the vegetation and the few plantations benefit from a little rain, and where the misery is not too intense. The State is completely absent, but a catholic church and some associations have taken over. It takes 8 hours to get there, a grueling journey, but the welcome is warm for those who dare to come here, and the national park is unique.
