Daliyat-el-Karmel has a population of 17,000 and is the largest Druze village in Israel. It was founded in the 17th century by Druze from Mount Lebanon. In 2003, the village of Ysfia (or Isfiya or Oussafiya) was attached to it (the whole was then officially called Carmel City), before each village regained its independence in 2008. Most of Daliyat-el-Karmel's commercial activity is concentrated on its main street, in the town center. You can visit artist Sam Halabi's astonishing house, where explosions of paint take over the walls and objects of his home, which has been transformed into an art gallery (https://samhalaby.co.il).
