On the seafront, Nahsholim is renowned for its beautiful beaches. Next to the vacation village, you can visit the archaeological site of Tel Dor, one of the main natural harbours on the coast and therefore an important city for many peoples. Discoveries already made include the enormous stone gateway to Solomon's city, cylinder seals from Assyrian times, numerous terracotta figurines from the Persian occupation, stone houses with well-preserved walls from the Hellenistic period and mosaic floors from Roman times. Archaeologists are concentrating their efforts on an ancient Crusader citadel and Roman remains.
