Binyamina lies less than 10 km east of Caesarea and Jisr Az-Zarqa. It was founded in 1922 and named in honor of Edmond James de Rothschild, who developed the region's vineyards and attempted to develop the perfume industry. Some of its wineries are still renowned today. Without much charm, the town does offer a few places to sleep or eat. From here, you can reach Alona Park-Mey Kedem, some 11 km to the east, and Zihron Ya'akov by leaving the town on road no. 652. The latter includes Jabotinsky Park, home to Shuni Fortress: a caravanserai built in Ottoman times on Roman and Byzantine remains.
