In this rural village of inhabitants, there is a th century Romanesque steeple. It consists of three floors in rubble of pink sandstone with an angle chaining with carved mass stone. It has been a historic monument since 1973. In the church, the organ All-Callinet - 1775 and 1835 - the chorus of the choir - 1772 and 1882 - and a table of 1716, a representative of San Sebastian treated by Saint Irène, are also classified historic monuments. Along the streets of the village we can discover eight crosses and wayside, a former th century washing house and the stone of the th century mill. In 1884, Merxheim had a station that was destroyed in 1986. It was Refurbished in 2007 and allows to travel to Strasbourg or Mulhouse and Basel. With that of Raedersheim, it is the only railway station remaining in the Rhine land Grand Ball - or RVGB. The village is located in the centre of the RVGB country, extending from the Grand Balloon to Fessenheim on the banks of the Rhine.
