Located 116 km from Malé, Dharavendhoo is a rising island due to the Unesco biosphere reserve in which it is situated. The arrival of the airport has opened up the island even more. There are now a dozen guest houses. The island is very attractive because of the joie de vivre of its community. Take a bike ride around the island and you will feel right at home. The beauty of the surrounding coral and fish makes it a great place for snorkeling. The spots of Dharavendhoo Thila and Hanifaru Bay are particularly well known to divers, as manta rays feed in this protected area. In one dive, 80 to 100 manta rays could cross your path in season, from May to November. But be careful, the Hanifaru reserve is reserved for snorkelers only.
