The now defunct Hudhuveli Beach Resort rose from the ashes in 2003 to become one of the most spectacular resorts in the Maldives, boasting the most spacious and luxurious accommodation, one of the most magnificent lagoons and an exceptional spa. While the island itself houses some of the social areas (reception, dive club, tennis court, pool), everything else sits on stilts in the middle of the lagoon: the accommodation, restaurant and spa. The result is a sparsely developed, very green island that houses mostly employee accommodation. The hotel also relies on solar energy to limit its footprint.
