Travel Guide Longtan

The city itself is of little interest. We come here to see the Shimen Dam. Work on the dam on the Tahan River was completed in 1964, creating the largest lake in northern Taiwan, the Shimen Reservoir. As a highly industrialized district, Longtan gives an idea of what Taiwanese industrial hubs might have been like in the 1980s and 1990s. There are also companies specialising in high technology. Its night market has remained authentic, and allows you to discover the daily life of the middle class.
