Capital of Taiwanese pottery, especially since the opening of its famous Ceramics Museum in 1999, Yingge is located south of Taipei, which is well worth a visit. Its old streets Zhongshen 1st Road and Zhongshan Road are a showcase of the city's handicrafts, and a very pleasant stroll. Dozens of shops present everything that can be done in terms of pottery... at very interesting prices. Do not hesitate to negotiate. A very good shopping getaway, but which also allows you to discover a multi-centenary know-how, always very much appreciated by the Taiwanese. You can get to Yingge from Taipei by train, with a departure every 30 minutes, for half an hour's ride and NT$35.
