North of the Adelaide Hills, Gumeracha is a small town on the banks of the Torrens River, the most important river in the Adelaide Plains. The town and surrounding area are heavily dependent on agriculture, which is quite varied: dairy farming, vegetable and fruit growing, and viticulture. Gumeracha owes its popularity to its wooden toy factory and the giant wooden horse, the Big Rocking Horse, which dominates the entrance to the site from a height of 18 meters. Gumeracha is above all a family destination.
