Stirling is one of the pretty little towns in the Adelaide Hills. The town became popular in the 1800s when wealthy Adelaide residents built summer homes to escape the heat of the plains. A walk through Stirling reveals some of the most beautiful homes in the entire state. In autumn, the streets are alive with color from the many deciduous trees that were imported from Europe in the 19th century. Only a few minutes away by car, it is highly recommended to go to Aldgate and then Bridgewater, via the Mt Barker Road, both of which are as small as they are charming.
