The small town of Lobethal, fairly isolated on the southern face of the Adelaide Hills, boasts a small museum, the Onkaparinga Woolen Mills Museum, and a number of wine cellars. The Onkaparinga Woolen Mills Museum preserves traces of the region's industrial past and houses, among other things, the looms from the woolen mill in Onkaparinga, Lobethal's neighboring town. Lobethal is best known for its Christmas festival, the Lights of Lobethal, during which the locals decorate their homes with candles and lanterns of all colors, and which attracts many visitors every year.
