Birdwood is a small town in the Adelaide Hills near Mount Pleasant, on the Murray Bridge road (B35), renowned for its National Motor Museum. It houses over 300 models of motor vehicles (cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles). These include a Peugeot Type 17 from 1897, a De Dion-Bouton Type E from 1900, a Ford Model T from 1921, a Chevrolet Standard Sedan from 1937, a Datsun 260Z from 1976... Every year, the town and its museum organize the Bay to Birdwood, a rally of vintage vehicles that sets off from Glenelg through bucolic landscapes.
