Historical village built in 1811 as a military post, Evandale is today the home of Launceston airport. It is the last town before Ben Lomond National Park, located about 50 km to the east. This small picturesque town hosts many events such as the Glover Award (one of Australia's largest landscape painting awards) and the Penny Farthing Nationals. A regional market is held every Sunday in Falls Park. Among the historical monuments to be discovered, we can mention St Andrews Church (1872) with its classical bell tower, Clarendon Arms Hotel (1847) or Solomon Cottage (1836).
