30 minutes from Waianae and 40 minutes from Waikiki, Kapolei is worth a stop, especially for its luaus. The town is home to the large hotel complexes of Ko Olina (Hilton, Four Seasons...) and a huge golf course of the same name. Four lagoons have been dug and designed along the coast, in the shape of perfect crescents. It may not be natural, but the illusion is perfect: soft sand, turquoise waters and protective seawall. The place is worth the detour, especially since these beaches are often empty, so you can enjoy them in complete serenity. Other beaches, this time natural, border the coast and offer good coral and surf spots.
