At the entrance to this village of 170 inhabitants, from which you enter the province of Palencia, you can see the hermitage of La Piedad, which dates back to the 13th century, and in which there is an image of the pilgrim Santiago. An obligatory stop for any self-respecting pilgrim, the village once had up to five hermitages, but the one in front of you is the only one that has resisted the passage of time. Itero de la Vega also has a church dedicated to St. Peter, built in the 16th and 17th centuries, which houses the tomb of the Bishop of Jaén (17th century). The village has a bar, a supermarket and a grocery store.
