This small village of 170 inhabitants is a place of passage on the Camino Francés used by pilgrims to Compostela. The church dedicated to San Lorenzo, built in the 13th century and renovated in the 16th century, houses several baroque altarpieces and is worth a visit before moving on to the next stage. Along the main street and in the adjoining alleys there are some beautiful houses with coats of arms, some of them dating from the 16th century. One of them is said to have housed the Emperor Charles V (Carlos V) during a visit to the area. A modern statue of Jacobeo dating from 2004 stands as a tribute to pilgrims from all countries.
