A small sleepy village of about 100 inhabitants, it has a decent inn and an unpretentious municipal bar where pilgrims can enjoy a meal with the occasional local. Nearby is the emblematic Itero Bridge(puente de Itero orpuente Fitero) that crosses the Pisuerga River, built in the 11th and 12th centuries during the reign of Alfonso VI of León. Unfortunately, no original elements remain, as the bridge was rebuilt in the sixteenth century and further modified in the eighteenth century. Nevertheless, the work is quite impressive and well worth a moment of contemplation.
