This village of 900 inhabitants is organized around a long main street, like many other villages along the Way of Saint James. Dominated by the ruins of its castle, the village preserves a rich religious heritage, consisting of three churches: the 13th-century collegiate church of Santa María del Manzano, which houses an interesting Rococo altarpiece; the Gothic church of Santo Domingo, with an elegant 16th-century plateresque façade; and the church of San Juan, which preserves a 14th-century cloister with Mudejar coffered ceilings. Two kilometers to the east are the ruins of the 12th-century San Antón monastery.
