Founded on the old town of Pallantia, this village of 200 inhabitants is nestled at the foot of a hill where the Arlanza and Arlanzón rivers meet. Classified as a "historical and artistic ensemble", the village preserves the ruins of its th century castle, as well as one of the entrance gates of its ancient medieval wall, known as the Arco de la Paz. There are also several religious buildings, especially the Gothic church San Juan Bautista.
