Travel Guide Laguna De Colta

25 km southwest of Riobamba. The road goes along this immense lagoon whose waters shimmer under the sun. The panorama has a somewhat desolate charm, a vast expanse where herds graze. The lake, bordered by swamps, is wedged between the railway and the village. In its waters are reflected the Chimborazo on a clear day, the railway line and the city of Cajabamba. This beautiful lagoon is known in the Puruhá language as Kulta Kucha, which means Duck Lagoon.
