Écouché was once an important town: glass, agricultural cooperative, a market with renowned canvases, this former fief of the family of Montgommery is now a tranquil village, but deserves a detour. Take the time to wander through its streets, and let yourself be surprised by the old houses, the remains of the medieval medieval fortifications (one, the tower headed, with a curious rectangular construction), and especially the Notre-Dame church. On the edge of the Orne, and the GR 36, Écouché is also the starting point for many walks.
