Welcome to Sikinos, a small, peaceful and unspoilt island in the Cyclades! This is one of Greece's smallest islands, situated in the southern part of the archipelago between Ios and Folegandros. Alopronoia is the island's only port. The island has a population of less than 300, easily doubled in summer. Small dwellings and a few guesthouses for tourists are scattered around the slopes bordering Alopronoia. In other words, Sikinos remains a haven of peace, relatively untouched by mass tourism. The main village is small and picturesque: a port, a beach, a small tavern, a café that also makes souvlaki and a small grocery store. It's a fishing village that's only recently developed. Situated in a quiet bay, the sandy beach is fairly wide and one of the island's busiest. Close to the road leading to the port, it doesn't have the wild charm of the others, but it's still very pleasant and the water is a bewitching blue.
