Located 6 kilometers from the harbor, the capital has taken its name since 1836 from the pre-Christian times when the inhabitants of the island celebrated the cult of Apollo. Apollonia has expanded considerably in recent years, so much so that it now touches its neighbor Artemonas. In the center of the island, it concentrates all the activity. Moreover, the city is very beautiful with its small paved streets, its cycladic houses full of flowers and its superb panorama. In the evening, the activity is in full swing on the Steno, the main pedestrian street that climbs up the alleys of the village. Here you will find the stores, cafes and restaurants of the Siphniote capital.
